Specialist projects have included large private houses, firearms training centre, food processing installations, manufacturing facilities including complex support structures for the glass container making industry, chimneys and bases, waste management machinery, overhead craneage facilities, wind tunnels, printing plants and MRI scanner installations.

Work is also undertaken in the fields of structural surveys (often for the local authority), building extensions and underpinning.

Civil works include site development roads and drainage, together with associated adoptions.

Steel frames are fully designed in house for most projects, and a design service is operated for local steelwork fabricators.

Site feasibility studies include geotechnical / environmental desk studies and setting up of subsequent intrusive investigations. Main services
and natural drainage are investigated.

By intent STA’s operations tend to be within 1 hour of the Office therefore mainly Beds, Bucks, Northants, but projects are taken further afield
for established clients. Generally STA carries out projects of value up to £4-5m.

At Milton Keynes General Hospital STA have been appointed in connection with separate projects such as a walk-in centre, cardiology unit, multi-storey carpark, and wards and office extensions. Most of these were sourced under Procure21 and our appointment was by IHP (Vinci/Norwest Holst + Alfred McAlpine).

A new multi-storey Car Park and mortuary have been completed for MK Hospital.

At Milton Keynes Knowlhill two separate Office Developments, each with multiple buildings, have been completed recently for a local Developer / Property Company.

At Bilston, West Midlands STA acted for a small Developer on a new £2m Office Complex for Dolphin Bathrooms, completed in April 06. Ground conditions were backfilled open cast mine, the top 3m lime/cement stabilised under this contract.

We have completed a large expansion project for a print company in Bicester. The main infill unit having a 70m x 40m lattice truss construction.
